Alumni

Welcome to the Newman Theological College (NTC) Alumni Home Page.

Since 1969 Newman Theological College has prepared over 6000 persons for ministry and service. These alums serve not only in traditional parish settings, but in schools, hospitals, correctional institutions, service organizations, academic settings, secular employment, and many other places. We are proud of our alums and the tradition of service that they have carried out over the years.

The major aim of the Newman Theological College Alumni Association is to serve the College through promoting its welfare. Any person who has graduated from Newman College is eligible for full membership in the Alumni.

Exciting “Perks” for NTC Alumni!!

NTC Alumni have access to the NTC library collection via the online catalogue and may register for a free borrower card. These services are available to Alumni to facilitate their ongoing formation and ministerial development. It applies to all Alumni whether they live in or outside the Edmonton area.

To obtain a card, contact our librarian, Jim Derksen, by phone 780-392-2454, or by email jim.derksen@newman.edu, or in person at the library circulation desk.

The NTC library has over 38,000 books, audio visual materials and periodicals in the areas of theology, scripture, liturgy, ministry, spirituality, religious education, social justice and more. Check out the newest titles in theology or your field of ministry by browsing the NEOS catalogue, which is available on the library page of the NTC website.

Alumni living in the Edmonton area can access the collection during library hours as well as make use of the facility. You can also place a hold request on any NTC item and have it sent to any NEOS library in the Edmonton area. This also applies to returning items.

For out-of-town Alumni, you can request items from the NTC collection by sending the librarian an email listing the author and title of each item. Items will be sent to the alumnus via Canada Post with a return mailing label included. Remember there is no charge to you, the Alumni borrower.

Also, Alumni living near any of the NEOS libraries outside of Edmonton, can request – online or by email - NTC items to be sent to the NEOS library in their area. Items can then be returned through that library.

Your ongoing formation is important to the people at Newman, as are the variety of ministries that you engage in, be they parishes, hospitals, schools and beyond.
