Transfer Credit

Applicants can submit a request for transfer credit at the time of admission or at any time in their program.

STEP 6: ADMISSION DECISIONS

After your application and all documents have been received, you will be notified by email with your admission decision. Decisions are made after review by the Admissions and Evaluations Committee and you can expect your official letter of offer of admission from the Registrar to arrive electronically by email 2 weeks after the relevant document submission deadline you have met. See Transcript and Document Submissions Deadlines in Step 5.

STEP 7: ACCEPTING AN OFFER

Make a Payment

Depending on what type of student you are, you may be required to actively accept your admission offer and/or pay a $150.00 tuition deposit in order to enter a new program. For most students new to NTC, a non-refundable tuition deposit is required in order to accept your offer of admission and confirm a spot in your program. Your spot in the program is not confirmed until we receive your payment. You will have 60 days from the issuance of your offer of admission to make payment. If you fail to meet the deadline, your offer will be cancelled.

Letters of Admission are issued electronically by email after applicants accept their offer and pay their deposit.

NTC offers the following methods of payment for a tuition deposit: cash, cheque, credit card, or in-person debit card payment. Telephone payments can be made by contacting Student Services Reception or mailing in a cheque.

Exemptions

The following types of students are exempt from having to accept their admission offer by paying the $150.00 tuition deposit:

Third-party-funded students, including:
Seminarians
Students sponsored by a school district

Deferred Admission

Admitted students may be able to defer admission for a maximum of one year by making an application to the Office of the Registrar but the tuition deposit is still required. Registration post admission is acceptable up to one year following the admission decision. Application materials are good for one year from the point of application. Scholarships and financial aid cannot be deferred, so admitted students would need to reapply for those awards each year.

STEP 8: REGISTRATION

Once you have accepted your admission offer and paid the tuition deposit, you will be eligible to register in courses after you have consulted with your Faculty Advisor. Information will be emailed to you to help you get set up with general information for all new students including details about the student portal, email, requesting learning accommodations, planning your finances and paying your fees. In the meantime, you can browse courses and build a sample schedule based on current course offerings. Course registration will open in April for the following fall term in any academic year.
